Help Rebuilding the Nineveh Plain

The Spirit of the Times after the Liberation from ISIS: Reconstruction of the Nineveh Plain in Northern Iraq

After ISIS was expelled from Mosul in 2017 and the Nineveh plain in Iraq, IDPs began to return to their hometowns in the Nineveh Plain. Families are starting to rebuild their homes and small businesses are being rehabilitated to bring life back to their villages and cities.

Syriac Cross and its partner organization Beth Nahrain Organization for Women support both families and business people to enable a quick return. Together with our sponsors Shai Fund and Operation Blessing & Eagle Watch we were able to help 30 families renovate their homes. In addition, four small businesses were supported with materials and renovation work. The companies are a car repair shop, a hairdresser’s shop, a restaurant and a specialist shop for forging accessories.

However, there’s still a lot to do!!!!

We continue our efforts to raise funds to support people and contribute to the reconstruction of the Nineveh Plain.

There is a need in the following areas:

  • Reconstruction of houses;
  • Reconstruction of small businesses;
  • Reconstruction of the kindergartens;
  • Reconstruction of schools;
  • School material;
  • Electricity/Energy;
  • Water supply;
  • Nursing homes for elderly people;
  • and much more.

Please contact us at (info@syriaccross.com) if you are interested in a subject area or have your own ideas for implementation.
