Bethnahrain Organization for Women

Bethnahrain Organization for Women was elected in 2001 and started her activities in 2003 in Iraq. The organization especially focuses her activities on Suryoye (Assyrian-Aramean-Chaldean) women but also Iraqi women in general.

Goals:

  • Organise social-cultural activities and economic development of women
  • Support women in standing up non-violently for their rights
  • Activate the role of women in reconciliation and society building
  • Strengthen the feeling of national unity with all national and religious denominations – without exceptions
  • Establish democracy and ending the politics of denial and repression
  • Democracy-building on the basis of equality
  • Supporting oppressed women and enhancing their role in society and in family-life
  • Servicing youth and children in society at large.

Since her establishment the Bethnahrain Organization for Women, in cooperation with international organisations, started and accomplished several educational projects for women, youth and children.

Syriac Women Union

The Syriac Women Union in Syria was established in 2013 by different women committees and it’s goal is to be a platform which especially advocates the rights of Suryoye (Aramean-Assyrian-Chaldean) but also the Syrian woman in general. More than 200 women participated in her founding congress and has now developed in a network of hundreds of female volunteers.

The Syriac Women Union organizes lectures, courses and workshops about women rights in Syria.

Syriac Cultural Association in Syria

The Syriac Cultural Association in Syria is a non-profit and non-government allied educational organization. The association has several centers in four cities in the Al-Hassaka Governate and has around 250 volunteers. 25 of them are staff workers in the central and administrative committee.

The goal and work of the Syriac Cultural Association in Syria is primarily focused on and supporting in the education of children by giving free courses in English, mathematics, technology, culture and in the Suryoyo language.

The SCAS started projects to support young people and students the development of their talents and hobby’s.

Syriac Youth Union – Syria

The Syriac Youth Union in Syria is formed by young people who work together to implement democratic values and concepts and fights for the acceptation of different ethnic groups. The Suryoyo (Chaldean-Aramean-Assyrian) youth aspire a democratic society which grants them individual human rights. The Syriac Youth Union played an essential role in and formed the basis of the Syriac Democratic Movement which works to represent young people in the civil society of a democratic Lebanon. The SYU Lebanon organizes youth camps, workshops, seminars and courses on civil society, democracy, community building and the rol of media in society.

The SYU in Syria has more than 200 volunteers and is active in four cities in the Al-Hassaka Governate. Furthermore, it has activities in more than 8 other cities including Aleppo and Homs. The SYU Lebanon organizes youth camps, workshops, seminars and courses on civil society, democracy, community building and the role of media in society.

The Syriac Youth Union supports the Syriac Cross among others in the distribution of humanitarian aid.
